The rational idea behind the concept of shell particles was to improve column efficiency by shortening the pathways that analyte molecules must travel and so doing, to improve their mass transfer kinetics. Chromatographic chiral adsorbents coated on superficially porous particles, also called core-shell are rapidly developing materials for chiral and achiral separations in high performance liquid chromatography. This article reports chromatographic separation of the novel chiral sulfoxides with the stationary phases pepared by coated cellulose-4. The results of our study has indicated that superficially porous particles are advantageous for ultrafast and high efficiency chiral seperations, enantiomeric separations in few seconds are now feasible. Later, some new types of stationary phases were prepared, where the length of coating chiral selectors were decreased respectively. In our experiment the flow rate of mobile phase is very high and we are studying if it affects theefficiency of chiral columns. At high flow rates of mobile phases superficially porous particles has revealed advantages for ultrafast separation. The morphology of core-shell particles gives us an opportunity to solve this problem.
