Under different doses of water deficit certain morphological (stem height, stem diameter, number of leaves) and biochemical (content of proline and proteins) parameters were studied in corn (Zea mays L.) seedlings. Terahertz technology – innovative approach in plant physiology - was applied as a means of water content monitoring. Water monitoring by the use of the mentioned technology showed that full (73%) and reduced (59%) irrigation regimes were sufficient for corn seedlings; water deficit was caused by minimal (49%) irrigation regime. Water deficit negatively affected on morphological parameters; under the same condition intensive accumulation of proline and proteins represented plant defensive response against stress caused by water deficit.
