Polyphenol compounds containing extract, with flavonoid properties (GOF) had derived from the Georgian orange peel of the local early varieties. It was studied influence of GOF on heart muscle cells and blood antioxidant system in the conditions of psycho-emotional stress. It has been shown, that injection of GOF had Improved the heart muscle cells, as well as blood functional condition, which means the increase activity of antioxidant enzymes, normalization of lipid oxidation process and correction of Ca2+ ions and NO amount during stress. Results obtained were compared with other flavonoids effects, derived from citrus, such is nobiletin. It has been shown that during stress condition, antioxidant system changes caused by GOF injection is similar to the nobiletin effects. At the same time, the use of GOF also enhances energy metabolism enzymes level, which were decreased in the long-term psycho-emotional stress. In particular, uses of flavonoid extract increases the activity of enzymes such as succinate dehydrogenase and creatine kinase. Similar effects are also observed when used commercial nobiletin.
